Getting started on a new habit

Updated: Feb 9

Wow! I'm proud of myself. My coach suggested to me that I wake up at 4am and do some deep thinking. ''Get practice in doing deep thinking'', which is a really great way to start moving in a new direction. Well, at 3.20am my body clock woke me up and although I didn't get up out of bed until now, 5am I have done what feels to me like some deep thinking about what it is I need to do today.

That period of lying in your bed, half-asleep, I find is actually a very creative time. Perhaps its the subconscious mind helping me. Dreams and being awake while dreaming - isn't that the state that people want to be in while meditating?

One of the things that crossed my mind was that I need to get this business off the ground. For many months now I've had the basic structure of a business ready and waiting. I'm wanting to get it off the ground now, but I haven't made it happen. Too many things are distracting me. I think starting a new business is one of the most difficult things in the world to do, and of course it requires focus and dedication and commitment to make it happen.

But, if I can keep waking up early, and I can keep thinking, and putting energy into it in the early morning, this might just be the habit that takes me from zero to my end goal, which is a successful, busy and ultimately well known Life Coaching practice run from either South Africa, where I'm from, or from anywhere in the world where I choose to be. A digital nomads life is calling me.
